MARK OFTEDAL

Mark Oftedal grew up drawing pictures leading him to his passion for animation. He started in the industry working at Pixar, animating on Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and A Bug's Life, he then left to pursue other interests. Mark co-founded DigitalFish in San Francisco, creating 3D animation software. He is currently a freelance animator and a character designer, working with Pixar. Mark Oftedal is also an active mentor at Animation Mentor, teaching Polishing and Portfolio.

The eCritique® tool is an innovative key element in the Animation Mentor program. Each week, a professional mentor will provide their students with a newly recorded video critique on their weekly animation assignment. This provides valuable insight, feedback and suggestions on ways to improve students’ weekly assignments and animation skills. In addition to viewing their own critiques, students may also view the critiques of their peers, learning from their mistakes and successes as well.
