- Have a good understanding of the English language (our classes are only conducted in English).

COMPUTER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
This is an online animation school, so you’ll be attending class using your computer, an Internet connection, and a webcam. A webcam will allow you to capture images from your sketchbook, record video reference to analyze as well as interact with mentors and other students.
Here are the minimum system requirements:
*Use the Speakeasy Speed Test to check your Internet speed, but be sure to choose the San Francisco server.
OTHER MATERIALS YOU NEED TO PROVIDE
SKETCHBOOK: To help you observe and capture the essence of what is happening in the world around you and put that into your work, you will do sketchbook assignments throughout your journey. So be sure to have a sketchbook handy!
WEBCAM and HEADSET: You’ll need a webcam and hands free headset to fully participate in our Live Q&As.
BOOKS: You need two books for the program. The Illusion of Life by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston and The Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams. We also provide a list of optional recommended reading materials once inside the campus.
WE PROVIDE THE ANIMATION SOFTWARE YOU’LL NEED
Although you are responsible for supplying your own computer equipment, software and broadband Internet access, we have your animation software covered.
Shortly after enrollment, you’ll receive instructions to download Maya®, the industry standard in character animation software, for free! Animation Mentor is a member of Autodesk’s® Education Community, which allows us to provide Maya free of charge to our active students.
You’ll also receive fully modeled and set-up characters so you can focus 100% on animation right away.
