In Advanced Body Mechanics – Pro, build on your learning from previous classes to animate increasingly physical shots with your characters. You also get your first experience working in the studio environment. Work with your classmates to create a collaborative sequence of animation shots, conveying physicality and strong body mechanics. You’ll animate your own shots, while learning how to integrate your animation with the other shots in the sequence – just like animators in top feature studios.

Learn How to:

  • Use staging and composition to tell your story, including how to help your audience understand the progression of your sequence of shots
  • Effectively use storyboarding to map out your animation plan and pitch your ideas to a director
  • Build on your existing body mechanics to improve your ability to animate physical shots like running, crawling and even climbing with Stella or Stan
  • Delve deeper into advanced techniques of anticipation, overlapping action and timing & spacing
  • Animate your shots within the context of a larger sequence
  • Learn how to integrate your shots into the team’s sequence under the direction of your mentor

Why it’s right for you:

  • Be Bold: The Classic Pro Animation Track is for those animators looking for cutting-edge curriculum design, exclusive technology, interdisciplinary teamwork, collaboration and constant experimentation
  • Improve your ability to work on a team, by giving and taking feedback from your mentors and peers
  • Prepare yourself to succeed in the studio environment – go beyond the principles of animation and learn how to work with your fellow animators and your peers further down the production pipeline
  • Impress your animation supervisor on day one by seamlessly integrating your animation within the larger sequence
  • Graduate with a team-based short film sequence for your demo reel
  • Learn from top professional mentors at the most trusted and well-respected online animation school
