Top Things a Student Needs to Succeed in School:
Students need to have the passion, self-motivation, and time to take full advantage of the 18-month character animation program. A background in art or animation is not required, but is helpful. Some of our students have previously attended animation colleges or universities. Students must be able to creatively interpret the world around them to be successful with our program. Our animation classes are based on the industry standard software program Maya, so a foundational knowledge of this program is helpful. Any 3D animation software experience, 2D animation, or drawing skills are a plus.

Working in Animation
Character animation skills can be used in a variety of jobs. Whether you love children's animation such as the 2D animation classics like Jungle Book and Snow White - or you prefer working in the latest 3D animation technology for creating video games or feature film 3D animation - our animation school will give you the basic skills and expertise to create memorable animated characters for all your projects. You will graduate from our animation program with a demo reel of the best work you created during your animation courses. This demo reel is what will showcase your animation talent to prospective employers -- and get you a job in the animation industry.

Learning Platform:
Animation Mentor has developed a host of proprietary tools to help give better support, guidance and feedback to our students. One of the school's tools is the eCritique®. This tool allows mentors to critique each frame of an animation film, or clip, draw directly on a student's work to correct lines of action, blocking, and movement, and to provide visual direction for how to improve the piece. Students receive an eCritique of their animation assignments every week.
