Animation Mentor Partners With Alice Radio On Annual 3-Minute Film Festival
On-Line Character Animation School to Create "Morning Show" Animated Short
Animation Mentor, the Berkeley-based online character animation school, was selected by San Francisco radio station Alice @ 97.3 as a partner on its Alice's 3-Minute Film Festival. The modern adult contemporary station unveils a new "Morning Show"-themed short film, each year, as part of the celebration. This year's sponsored film is titled "Swat Monkey: The Beginning," and will debut at the 2006 award show April 8 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco.
"Swat Monkey" is a racy monster spoof that features the voices of "Morning Show" hosts Sarah and "No Name." The film is written and created by Matt Staudt, producer of Alice's "Morning Show." Animation Mentor is helping Matt bring his vision to life by developing the look and feel of the film, and its design work. "We are excited and honored to partner with Alice Radio," said Bobby S. Beck, president/co-founder, Animation Mentor. "Alice and 'No Name's' show is awesome to listen to. Their energy and enthusiasm wake me up in the morning and keep me going throughout the day!" Founded in 2002, the 3-Minute Film Festival honors the best in very, very short films in four categories: drama/documentary, comedy, animation and music videos.
