WIN A ONE-TERM SCHOLARSHIP TO
ANIMATIONMENTOR.COM

Take the Animation Mentor Challenge: Help Spike Find His Way HOME! Hurry! This offer is limited to the first 100 entries and you must enter at our booth at Siggraph!

Animators are not only artists but also storytellers. Any good animator knows that a carefully planned story is the single most important key to a successful film. At Animation Mentor, we teach the art and craft of character animation and hone your acting and storytelling skills along the way. That's why we invite you to create a story for our mascot, Spike.

CONTEST RULES

Spike has gotten himself in a real pickle and needs your help to find his way home. Your 500 – 1,000 word story and illustrations will outline the adventures of how spike finds his way out of the jungle where he was recently lost on an uncharted expedition.

SETTING THE SCENE

Spike is AnimationMentor.com's mascot. Endlessly curious and extremely mischievous, his main purpose in life is to play and have fun. With his boundless energy and love for anything new and shiny, he decided to go after the hidden animation artifacts that were recently discovered in the Amazonian jungle.

He foolishly chose to enter the wilds without a guide, or proper equipment. All he had was an old map and the stories he'd heard from other animation characters. He was last seen striking out on a trail headed north. We haven't heard from him in a week and we're starting to get worried. Our guides have sent out a rescue mission but have so far come back without any clues.

Help us find a way to bring Spike home. Did he discover hidden treasure? Get bitten by a jungle snake? Or hook up with some undesirable characters? It's up to you to decide his fate and tell us what happens next.
