Matthew Russell began his animation career with DNA Productions, working on the Emmy nominated Olive the Other Reindeer. He went on to be a character animator and supervising animator on the Academy Award nominated Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius. Later, he spent 2½ seasons as a supervising animator on The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius before moving on to lead animator for the feature The Ant Bully from DNA Productions and Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc.
Matthew then made the transition over to video games with acclaimed game studio Valve (The Half-Life series, Left4Dead, Portal, Counter-Strike). At Valve, Matthew worked primarily on the award-winning multiplayer title Team Fortress 2 both on the in-game animation as well as the Team Fortress 2 Meet the Team shorts. He also loves mentoring for Animation Mentor, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family.
