Ryan Vicik has been a professional animator since 2015 and is currently an animator at DreamWorks Animation. After graduating from Animation Mentor, he went on to work at Motion Picture Company (MPC), Industrial Light & Magic, and Blue Sky Studios. Before becoming an animator, Ryan worked as an auto body technician, a sign maker, and did motorsport lettering and graphics. He is a “huge nerd” for classic Looney Tunes cartoons and his saltwater reef tank! Ryan currently teaches Animation Basics and Introduction to Acting.

Really great guy! Gives in depth feedback, and is always willing to stay extra time after the class ends to answer any and all questions we have. Ryan always is honest with us about the difficulties of animating, but balances that out with the inspiring realities that making it in the industry is all about putting in the work. I also love that he tries to push us beyond just focusing on the fundamentals, so that we’re thinking about the story that we’re trying to show off.
