What Jason’s Students are Saying
Loved the Maya Demos
I really appreciate how flexible Jason was, giving us the opportunity to get early Critiques. That way I had more time to focus on more difficult assignments. Loved the Maya demos and the shortcuts! Thanks for all the valuable feedback and Q&As!
Jason is Very Clear
I think Jason is very clear, he gave us tips to be quicker and more precise in animation. He showed us animation clips where he analyzed the funny movements that were going on and explained why and how the animator did this. I just want to say thank you AM because from what I experienced previously (which is two major French schools in animation and VFX) your teachers are real teaching, in live school we were just wasting time. So don’t worry the school is honest so you can’t fail too much. x)
Warm and Very Approachable
Enjoyed all his Q&As – very interesting and informative. He helped us understand how to study good animations and how to think while animating. Also, his critiques are clear and his Maya demos are very useful in learning how to animate correctly. He is warm and very approachable to answer any questions. Learned a lot from him and so glad I got to be under Jason’s mentorship.
Useful Critiques, Clear, and to the Point
Very responsive even outside of class. Useful critiques, clear and to the point. Also managed our expectations on what to focus on, like focusing on learning versus focusing on the grade, and doing work beyond the assignment for more practice.
Makes Animation Clear and Not Overwhelming
What I really appreciate is the way Jason approaches animation and his workflow, he explains it in a way that makes it clear and not that overwhelming and he personally made me feel more confident in my animation and more comfortable in pushing myself and most importantly more relaxed and enjoying the process of animating. To sum it up he really helped me and I am grateful for that!
A Very Supportive Mentor
Jason is an excellent mentor whose critiques have helped improve my animations and also my understanding of what to polish and work on creatively in future animations. His demos are very clear and he’s given lots of useful insights that have sped up my workflow. He’s a very supportive mentor who gives additional input where needed, and his lectures have helped deepen my understanding of animation.
Very Upbeat and Makes the Class Enjoyable
Jason is very upbeat and makes the class enjoyable to be a part of. He has explained basic animation and cinematography theories in a way that really clarifies what he wants the students to do in their work – his explanations make total sense and has been the first time I could truly understand and visualize the concepts. His offer of an early “ready to crit” is actually really helpful in helping people adapt school/assignments to their current schedules.
Made Me More Comfortable Animating
I really like the way he teaches, making it sound fun and not as complicated as it looks. It really made me more comfortable animating and I am so comfortable pushing myself and all his notes make sense and are really enhancing each of my shots. My overall experience is that I am building confidence in my work by following his feedback and Q&A and I can feel myself improving and the most important thing is how he really wants us as students to be excited to work on our shots and that is amazing.
