Sidney Kombo-Kintombo

Sidney is an extraordinary mentor, whose every critique and Q&A made me look at animation so differently, that I was amazed at the mistakes I made in my last submission. He really teaches how to understand motion and process, how to push storytelling and mood with proper posing in an eye opening way. I will definitely do what I can to do the next class with Sidney so he can help me lay strong foundations in acting for the rest of my career.

I feel like I’ve been pushed in a really good way this class and am learning a ton as a result. Sidney is so great about reminding us not to stress about what we’re doing… Just to try our best and let the process of learning unfold, and that’s been extremely helpful. I also appreciate the demos he does with our shots in Q&A’s to show how we could be improving upon what’s already there. I’m really glad I have him for body mechanics now to learn this stuff before we have to add on what’s next.

Sidney has a relaxed personality in a way where he can call you out on the work you post while keeping you invested in its development. During this class I have learned more on why things happen rather than just inserting principles in random areas and I have had a visible improvement because of it.

Sidney is a master animator. His teaching is second to none. He ensures that we see and appreciate the strength of the little details in animation.

Sidney was a wealth of information and really helped me push my animation skills far beyond what I’ve imagined. This really helped my confidence as well as gave me additional tools for animation.

Sidney is really a wonderful mentor. He can be really helpful and kind. He has an infinite knowledge about every aspect and that is wonderful!

He has a really unique approach to the topic, I think his lessons are really interesting and valuable because I can’t find this kind of tips, techniques and analysis anywhere else.Thanks to him I REALLY understood how to create and analyze a reference!

Sidney purely cares about us learning and getting better. He takes each question we ask seriously. He kindly and openly shares his experience with us. It would make it easier on us if Sidney posted his annotations on our submissions. One quote from Sidney can sometimes make more impact than a whole training lecture.
