Push your facial animation skills to the next level in this free workshop led by Disney Animator Brendan Gottlieb: Animating Facial Expressions.
In this workshop, Brendan discusses how to craft 3D poses from a 2D standpoint by understanding how a 2D animator would draw facial expressions. He shares practical tips on how to manually craft expressions rather than relying on a rig’s default output – and when it’s ok to break the rules.
Brendan also does a demonstration in Maya, using the Animation Mentor Viktor character rig, on how to create a natural smile by manipulating the jaw control and corners of the mouth of the rig.
