VFX Program: Brought to You by Animation Mentor (and a Few of Our Friends, Too)

Blog AM VFX

You’ve probably heard us speak about what we have in common. Animation for one. But also, a love for story and film. That’s why a dedicated VFX Program is a natural progression for you as the storyteller and filmmaker.

All for You
The curriculum and production environment we’ve assembled — with the help of top industry talent who also happen to serve as your mentors — combine for you to learn the exact skills that are highly desired by studios today.

“We work hard to maintain our relationships with studios around the world. We also look to make new connections because we know that every person we meet and every partnership we grow will help our students. That’s always our goal.”

— Becca Romeo, Industry Relations Manager, Animation Mentor

Industry Friends
You expect an Animation Mentor experience. So we worked closely with industry professional lighters and compositors from major studios and production houses — including Pixar Animation Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Weta Digital, and Industrial Light & Magic to name a few — to develop our VFX curriculum that echoes everything great about the Animation Mentor experience.

AMP™ Studio Production Pipeline
Learning to contribute in a studio begins with replicating a real-world production environment — and ensuring that you learn studio workflows and how best to work collaboratively within a studio pipeline. At the heart of this new instructional design is our state-of-the-art, patent-pending AMP studio production pipeline.

Cutting-edge Software
The VFX curriculum uses the most cutting-edge VFX software from The Foundry and Solid Angle. Learn to use MARI, KATANA, NUKE, and Arnold directly from studio professionals.

And Allow Us to Introduce Our Curriculum Director: Ben Fischler
Ben brings with him over 15 years in the animation and visual effects field, most recently as Visual Effects Supervisor at LAIKA, and prior to that in Lighting and Compositing at DreamWorks Animation SKG. His partial list of film credits includes Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Over the Hedge, Shrek 2, and Shrek the Third

As our fearless VFX leader, Ben has worked tirelessly to develop world-class partnerships with leading studios, software developers, character riggers, and VFX media partners to design a world-class VFX curriculum. And, not to note the obvious … but Ben is highly renowned in the industry and very excited to launch our VFX Program.
