Arran Baker

Arran’s wonderfully helpful and kind, goes out of his way to give students extra help. Helpful demos, questions are encouraged, resources are provided. Being taught principles through movie examples frame-by-frame is awesome. I’ve learned tons and Arran isn’t afraid to ask the most from his students.

Arran is an amazing mentor, he is passionate in what he does and also transmits his passion to us students. He was always available and happy to help whenever I had difficulties, and always motivated me to keep pushing to get better results. His Q&A’s were always great and so useful during every week’s assignments. Overall I think Arran is truly perfect as a mentor as he always keeps the classes informative and challenging, as well as fun and entertaining.

Arran is by far the best online teacher I’ve ever had. He is attentive, kind, thorough, and his grading keeps you accountable for the job you are doing. I have grown leaps and bounds in a short amount of time because of his consistent communication on the main principles that we need to include in our animations. He pushes you to grow and then also limits his involvement so you have to then solve things on your own as well. I would recommend Arran as my first choice to anyone.

Arran’s been a terrific mentor! Love the format of the feedback – always clear and concise with draw-overs done ahead of time that are then expanded upon in the recording. Live classes have been a great mixture of theory and practical. I particularly liked the breakdowns of examples of outstanding animation from various films – been super inspiring! Arran is friendly and approachable and always has time for any questions. It’s been a great term. Thanks!

I love being in Arran’s class!!! I’ve learned so so much from him. I really appreciate how he actually wants all of us to succeed. He’s also so respectful and kind in his critiques and he gives very clear instructions! I wish I could have him for Intro to Acting!!!

Arran is the best mentor I could have chosen! We’re doing a nice variety of demos and breakdowns in class. Arran is really putting in the extra effort so we learn the most. If he notices we’re struggling with things then we focus on it again in class. He is incredibly helpful when you have questions in class and throughout the week. His critiques are on point and I always know which things exactly I have to work on each week. I would definitely recommend his class!
