What Don’s Students are Saying
He is Awesome
He is awesome. When you see him working on Maya its so cool, you see his experience at the industry. I think that his critiques are very objective and he always asks if there are any questions. He is very patient and a great observer.
Q&A Sessions are Great
Our Q&A sessions are great! Don answers every question we could possibly have in and around lecture material. Don also tries to be available outside of Q&A to answer simple/quick questions we may face throughout the week. Don is so kind and positive and you can really tell his passion for the industry. His drawing skills are so good.
I Like How Don Teaches Concepts
I like how Don teaches concepts and about the thought processes in his critiques and classes. Those are so much more valuable than doing how-tos or “do this” kinds of classes. Thank you.
Very Clear with Expectations
Don’s great. He’s very clear with what his expectations are with the assignments. His Q&As are very helpful. His Q&As both help to clarify and add helpful information to the weekly lectures by going through his own approach to the assignments. He’s also great at making himself available to students outside the Q&As.
Excellent Communication
Don was excellent at communicating outside of class with prompt replies. He consistently did our critiques right away on Sundays and even offered us an early critique if needed for our schedules. He also offered to view our shots in class for extra feedback.
Great Eye for Feedback
Don has a great eye for critiquing animation and knows exactly what needs to be done to improve a piece, down to which control curve and which attribute. If we have assignments ready he will give us additional feedback during Q&As. His demos cover points beyond the demos in the lectures.
