What Jon’s Students are Saying
Loved Every Minute
Loved every minute of being in Jon’s class over the 2 terms I had him! My growth as an animator has been beyond the goals I had set for myself and I attribute a lot of that to Jon’s lectures and critiques; they are always very precise, clear and helpful, and overall just an all around great mentor and teacher.
Amazing All Around
Jon was always ready to help, responded to all messages really timely and still in-depth. He always was totally honest, helpful and did extra work or crits if the subject or question needed it. His well structured lessons and shot breakdowns never failed to teach a lot of new things in a really easy to understand way. His critiques were always well prepared and thought out, gave great guidelines while still helping develop each student’s own ideas. Jon just was amazing all around.
I've Improved as an Animator
I absolutely love the way Jon mentors us. He has really improved me as an animator. His Q&As are always great and informative overall it has been amazing having him as a mentor.
Lectures are Helpful
Jon’s lectures are always very interesting and helpful. His e-critiques are clear and straightforward. I have been struggling this term and Jon has been very encouraging while also not sugar-coating the issues in my animation. He has been great about pointing out problems and also suggesting solutions.
Critiques are Fantastic
I really enjoy the format of Jon’s Q&As. Jon does a great job going over the lecture, addressing questions, sharing his experiences, and showing us cool shot breakdowns. His e-Critiques are fantastic. They’re always clear and concise and packed with great information.
Critiques are Always Encouraging and Detailed
His critiques are always very encouraging and detailed, sometimes showing me things that I didn’t know needed to be fixed. I’m always so excited to get one and see how to improve my shots further. During class, he also checks in with everyone to see how they are doing, which I like. I end up learning from my other classmates, and it also leads me to talk in front of the class as well. I usually wouldn’t talk at all unless I had a question. He’s an amazing mentor!
