What Michael’s Students are Saying
I Highly Recommend Him
I rated Mr. Amos a Superstar because he was very open and friendly to everyone in class, he made us feel like we were part of the larger community. It was amazing to hear about his personal experience within the industry, with other professionals, and how each of the assignments in the class would apply to us down the road as animators ourselves. I would highly recommend anyone interested in animation to take a class with Mr. Amos, I certainly would take an advanced class from him in the future.
Goes Above and Beyond
Michael Amos is awesome. He’s fun, encouraging, and offers helpful suggestions and instruction in critiques. Oftentimes, he lectures past class time and provides a wealth of information each week. He definitely goes above and beyond.
Comes Prepared and is a Clear Communicator
I gave Mike a 5 because he gives a lot of good feedback and will open Maya files in class to show you exactly what he means. He also comes to class prepared with lecture materials. I also like that he showed us his student work from his time at AM, so that we could see what he expected. In short, Mike comes prepared and is a clear communicator.
Knows What Exactly What Works and What Doesn't
It’s because he is passionate about his work and you can easily tell from his classes and the feedback he gives to you every week. He knows exactly what works and what doesn’t and it’s just great hearing his opinions on the work of others and it’s so easy to follow what he means. I love that the first things he says about your work is what he really likes and THEN about the things that could improve. That can really motivate me to keep going and do better next time. 10/10
Critiques are Thorough and Honest
Mike is always well prepared for Q&A’s and provides us with information that directly pertains to our assignment and the struggles we may be having. In critiques, he is thorough, honest, and provides clear instructions on how to improve. He responds to emails in a timely manner and usually finishes our critiques the day they are submitted. I have zero complaints.
