Learn how stronger character development and drawing starts with truly observing the world around you in this free live-recorded workshop with character designer Stephen Silver.
Stephen breaks down what artists should actually be looking for when they observe people and the world: gesture, movement, posture, and the subtle personality cues that make a character feel real. He shows how consistent sketchbook practice built around these observations gives you a foundation to draw from when it’s time to invent a character from scratch. Characters that feel alive, dynamic, and full of personality don’t come from imagination alone – they come from connecting real life observation to imaginative design, so your invented characters feel truly believable.
