What Dave’s Students are Saying

Dave is an amazing mentor and I wish I could have him for every class. He has such a wealth of knowledge and is always on hand to help with any problems we’re having. His critiques are detailed and he tries to get them to us as soon as possible to give us plenty of time to fix any issues. His Q&A’s are a highlight of my week, he’s always prepared and he makes sure everyone has a chance to be heard. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from him.

Dave’s feedback is very clear, accurate and fair. I come out of every week understanding exactly what I need to improve and work on and it encourages me to keep learning and keep moving forward. He’s exceeded my expectations of Animation Mentor.

Dave has been pretty great this term. His insight in making better acting choices has been incredibly helpful. I would like to have more in-depth critiques but at the same time I appreciate that Dave gives us enough to go off so we can dig deeper in our work ourselves.

Dave has been very patient and personal with my learning process. He takes the time it needs for explaining things and you can tell that he takes a lot of care of your learning and interests. I think he is a great mentor and has taught me a lot. His Q&As are great because he talks about different topics of animation, not just what we are learning that moment, but also like the world around animation, and it’s great to get inspired!

Dave is a nice guy and is very passionate about teaching and animation. You get the sense that he really cares about the students and their success. The feedback is always great and easy to understand. He’s also good with us emailing him to have a look at our progression throughout the week.
