Animation Mentor Student Showcase 2017

2017 Animation Mentor Student Showcase

It’s that time again! Time for the 2017 Animation Mentor Student Showcase! Can you tell we’re pumped? This year’s Student Showcase features 16 students from 10 different countries. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy some mind-blowing animation.

In 2017, we were especially excited to see a lot of great cartoony animation as well as animation set to scenes from musicals, which we previously hadn’t seen much in student work. There’s so much variety in this year’s collection compared to years past, and it’s always inspiring to see the creative new ideas our students bring to life. Bottom Line: Animation Mentor students continue to raise the bar every year and we couldn’t be prouder.

This is also the first year we’ve used collaborative talent from around the world to light and render the incredible animation created by our students. We accomplished this with Artella, The Virtual Studio Platform, which made it a lot easier to communicate, share files, and really streamline our production.

It’s been a whole 12 years since we made history as the first online animation school. (We’re almost a teenager!) Since 2005, we’ve seen thousands of students come and go through our virtual doors. We’re continually wowed by our talented tribe who go on to do amazing things—from starting their own studios to getting their name in the credits to winning Annies to becoming mentors themselves!

So here’s to another year of learning, growing, and animating kick-ass shots.
