Free Workshop: Posing and Animating the Spine

by | Oct 9, 2026

The spine does more work than almost anything else in a pose. In this free recorded workshop, Keith Sintay, Senior Character Animator at Industrial Light & Magic, shows how to use it to build poses that feel grounded and alive.

Keith covers posing and animating the spine from the ground up. You’ll see how the spine shapes poses and acting choices, how it carries weight through walks and other movement, and how the same approach applies to a character in any position.
