What is 2D Animation?
“2D animation” or “traditional animation” is the art of drawing images in sequence to create the illusion of character movement. Modern 2D animators often use software instead of paper and a stylus instead of a pencil, but the principles of animation remain the same. 2D animation comes in many styles, from Japanese anime to the “puppet cut-out” style seen in shows like Arthur, Rick and Morty, and Gravity Falls.
